Release Notes

Release notes and version history for the memon apps.

This page lists the changes for each version of the memon app (desktop and mobile).

memon v1.3.4 (2026-09-09)

  • The detail screens for memos and pages now show a list of attachments.
  • Photoshop-format files attached in the body of a memo can now be previewed as a single image with the layers flattened.
  • Fixed an issue in the memo and page editor where thumbnails were shown small and squashed, for example when several attachments were added at once.
  • Right-clicking the thumbnail of an external URL now shows Open link and Copy link in the context menu.
  • Keybindings in the settings changed from typing the key combination as text to pressing the actual keys.
  • On Windows and Linux, the in-app image viewer that opened when you pressed the magnifier button on an image in a memo has been removed; images now open in the standard app of the OS.
  • The log view now opens scrolled to the bottom, so the latest log entries are visible.

memon v1.3.3 (2026-09-01)

  • Added Korean and Vietnamese to the UI display languages, bringing the total to 16.
  • Fixed an issue on macOS where typing in an input field such as in-page search or timeline filtering could mistakenly trigger modifier-free shortcuts like `u`, `j`, `k`, and `o`.
  • Fixed an issue in the heading list (in-page links) for memos and pages where, if the body text contained headings inside a quote block, you could jump to an unintended heading.
  • Fixed an issue in the memo and page editor where the preview area briefly collapsed right after adding an attachment. Until the preview is ready, the attachment is now shown the same way as a regular attachment.
  • On first use, if the storage location is empty, a getting-started memo is now placed in the timeline.
  • AI agents connected over MCP can now attach files on your computer, such as photos and PDFs, to memos and pages as they are. Until now the file contents themselves had to be included in the exchange with the AI, which made large files effectively impossible to attach.
  • The attachment size limit is now evaluated against the size after image compression. It was previously evaluated before compression, so photos that would have fit once compressed sometimes could not be attached.
  • Fixed an issue where reordering pages could fail. It occurred when the folder contained files that are not shown in the list.
  • Fixed an issue where empty folders were left behind on the receiving device when syncing between devices after a page folder had been moved or deleted, or a folder had been converted into a page.
  • Device-to-device sync now verifies the license inside the app as well. Even if the configuration file is edited directly, sync listening, pairing, and sync itself will not start without a license.
  • Fixed an issue where sync listening could unintentionally come back right after the device-to-device sync settings were changed.
  • The License section of the Account tab in the settings now shows the name and expiry of the license you are using, along with a list of the features it makes available. Previously only the email address was shown.
  • The default attachment size limit was raised from 2MB to 10MB, and the default target size for image compression from 512KB to 2048KB (settings you have already changed are unaffected).
  • The error message shown when an attachment exceeds the limit now mentions that the limit can be changed in the settings.
  • Other minor UI refinements and similar improvements.

memon v1.3.2 (2026-08-20)

  • You can now open an attachment's location in Finder or Explorer directly from the attachment preview.
  • Audio and video attached to memos and pages can now be played back in place with a player embedded in the body text.
  • Fixed an issue where generating an attachment preview could advance the last-updated time of memos and pages that had not been edited, causing them to be synced over and over. In addition, preview thumbnails are now reused on the receiving device.
  • In the Sync tab of the settings, the list of paired devices is easier to read, and removal is now done from a menu.
  • Fixed an issue where, during device-to-device sync, writing a received file could be mistaken for an external change.
  • The Logs tab in the settings was moved to the end of the Advanced tab.
  • The running status of the local server and the sync listener in the settings is now shown as a badge next to the checkbox.
  • Other improvements to performance and stability, along with minor UI refinements.

memon v1.3.1 (2026-08-16)

  • Fixed an issue where saving repeatedly in the edit window could reload the timeline and detail view once per save, making the app feel sluggish.
  • The backlink list in MCP/REST API memo and page retrieval results now includes the same type, title, and last-updated information shown in the app.
  • In the memo editor, clicking a tag within the body text no longer navigates away directly; it now opens the link view, from which you can jump to tag filtering.
  • Usability improvements to the memo editor window.
  • Fixed an issue where simply viewing a PDF/Office attachment on browsing screens such as the timeline or mobile would overwrite the thumbnail cache.

memon v1.3.0 (2026-08-10)

  • Memo body math formulas and `mermaid`, Graphviz DOT, Vega-Lite, and WaveDrom code blocks can now be displayed as diagrams.
  • Added thumbnail preview support for YouTube videos, some SNS posts, attachments, and more.
  • Increased line spacing for reading-oriented text such as memo bodies and settings screens to improve readability.
  • Improved the feel and display of lists, tags, and code copy in the memo editor.
  • Improvements related to attachment editing operations.
  • Strengthened MCP server security (prompt injection mitigations).
  • AI agents via MCP are now guided on how to use expressions such as math formulas, Mermaid, `.mm`, and SVG.
  • Logout is blocked while offline to prevent accidentally losing the ability to restore a paid license.
  • The About dialog now shows the open-source license list based on the dependencies currently in use.
